Teen Read Week, October 12-18, 2008

Since 1998, Teen Read Week has been an annual initiative of YALSA, the Young Adult Library Services Association division of the American Library Association. Teen books enjoy great popularity thanks in large part to the annual celebration. For me, teen or Young Adult books are a "fountain of youth" and are some what addictive. I love them.

Teen Read Week encourages teens to visit their public and school libraries, select their own reading material, and read for the fun of it. This year’s theme is “Books with Bite @ your library,” promotes vampire stories, cook books, technology (bytes), and all sorts of great reads. It is celebrated the week of October 12-18, 2008.

Read more about this celebration and you'll learn about "Teens' Top 1o" or teen choice. Check it out. Read the 2008 nominations. Vote.
