Librarian Job Description - Unshelved

Some comics are priceless. Today's comic is a "job description" for librarians that will most likely soon appear as a poster, t-shirt, and blog posts like this one! Thank you, clever comics Bill Barnes and Gene Ambaum of Unshelved.

PARENT: "You exposed my son to dangerous ideas!"
DEWEY the LIBRARIAN: "That's pretty much my job description."

Check out the series, but first get grounded on the daily comic strip characters. See also the store for fun t-shirts with sayings like "WILL WORK FOR BOOKS."

I Love Libraries

The American Library Association (ALA) has a general public site called "I Love Libraries." I'm sure its been around for some time, but I just learned about it when I read an ALA Press Release about the Yahoo! avatar READ T-Shirts! Rachel Johnson cleverly directed readers to ALA's public site in order to give the public an opportunity to purchase READ-related items and find all sorts of fun links such as "Librarians on YouTube."

Another link on this page is "Careers in Libraries." ALA is really getting hip! What a perception changer... hummm.
