Summer Reading & VOTE 4 Books

Summertime is just around the corner. I came across Upstart's set of summer reading lists for young children to read and then vote for their favorite in September.

Vote for Books - Your Favorite Childrens or Chapter Book - Library supplier Upstart Promotions is running a contest called 'Vote for Books.' Here is how it works: Starting January 1, 2008, librarians were urged to go to 'Vote for Books' and submit their favorite childrens or chapter book. On May 1, 2008 librarians can check back to see if their candidate made it to the top eight finalists of each category. Summertime is reading time. Fall is the start of 3 rounds of voting. Sounds somewhat like an online version of the California Young Reader Medal Award. CYRMA has a different timeline. Winning books were announced on May 1, 2008. So many books. Not enough time!
